“The presence of Christ in the Eucharist is real, true, and substantial.”
“It is called: Eucharist, because it is an action of thanksgiving to God.”
(CCC, no. 1328)
In the celebration of the Eucharist, bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the instrumentality of the priest. The whole Christ is truly present — body, blood, soul, and divinity — under the appearances of bread and wine, the glorified Christ who rose from the dead.
This is what the Church means when she speaks of the “Real Presence” of Christ in the Eucharist..
EUCHARIST or HOLY COMMUNION
The Eucharist is “the source and summit of the Christian life, for in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself.”
At Annunciation B.V.M., Mass is celebrated daily. See the full schedule on our Home Page for Weekday, Sunday and Holy Day Mass schedules.
Parish priests and Eucharistic Ministers distribute communion to those confined to their home, or in nursing facilities and hospitals. Please contact the rectory office if a friend or family member is in need of Communion.
